About Us
Meet the Chairman
Charles Kaikai
Welcome to the official website of the Sierra Leone Community Development Association in Washington (SLCDAW). As the President of SLCDAW, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you. Our association is made up of passionate and dedicated members who are committed to promoting our cultural heritage and embracing the values of unity, progress, diversity, and inclusivity within our community.
Formerly known as Mulema Organization, SLCDAW has celebrated our cultural heritage for many years while promoting educational and economic opportunities for our members in the Pacific Northwest. A central focus of our community development efforts is recognizing and promoting the social and academic achievements of our members. We honor students who graduate from high school, college, and other educational institutions by awarding them certificates and gifts. We also support our members undertaking social ventures like matrimony, special anniversaries among others.
As a non-profit organization, we are actively engaged in projects aimed at improving the quality of life for our people in the State of Washington and in Sierra Leone. Through the contribution of our members, we currently provide clean and safe drinking water, sanitation facilities, and medical supplies to rural communities in Sierra Leone.
I invite every Sierra Leonean in Washington State, government, and other partners to join us on this journey to enhance the quality of life for our community here and in Sierra Leone. As a community organization, we rely on your unique perspectives and collaborative skills for our success. Once again, welcome to the SLCDAW information website.
Thank you
